Aikido Demonstration
These are pictures of the Aikido demonstration given by the Aikido Center of Atlanta, led by George Kennedy Sensei, on July 8, 2006. Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by O-Sensei (great teacher) Morihei Ueshiba in the '20s to '30s of the 20th century. Loosely translated, Aikido means "the way of spiritual harmony". It is primarily a defensive martial art that seeks to 'harmonize' or 'blend' with the flow of an attack in order to use the opponent's energy against him.
